

About Christie
Christie Palmer Lowrance has passionately pursued her writing career as a journalist, freelance and travel writer, biographer, editor/consultant, and writing instructor. Her work covers diverse subjects that include the history, art, literature, and commercial life of Cape Cod. She has taught writing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Cape Cod Community College.
Ms. Lowrance is the author of Nature’s Ambassador: The Legacy of Thornton W. Burgess, a 320-page biography published in 2013 by Schiffer Publishing. It is the first complete biography of the preeminent 20th century naturalist, wildlife advocate, children’s author, and pioneer in environmental education and radio programming. ​Her children's book, The Last Heath Hen, will be published in early summer, 2024.
She has a B.A. degree (English) from Hobart & William Smith Colleges and an M.A. degree (Professional Writing) from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
At present she is working on a biography of Dr. George F. Bass (1932- 2021) known as the father of underwater archaeology.
